19 year old convicted by a jury and immediately sentenced to prison for 6 years

Press Release For Immediate Release December 4, 2007

(Hamilton, Ohio) Robin Piper, Butler County Prosecutor announced the successful prosecution of a thief. Joseph Little, 19 years old, was convicted by a jury and immediately sentenced to prison for 6 years.

On July 18, 2007, at about 7:00 a.m., a female resident was awakened to hear a person breaking into her home. She immediately called 911 and hid until police could arrive. Little had already fled the scene with over $5000 in electronics and jewelry.

Hamilton Crime Scene Investigation collected evidence and was able to identify Little through a fingerprint left at the scene. Little was known to the residents, but he was unable to explain how his fingerprint was at the scene because he had never been in the residence prior to the morning in question.

The jury found Little Guilty to Burglary and Theft charges. Based on Mr. Little’s extensive juvenile record, Judge Sage immediately sentenced him to 6 years in prison.

Prosecutor Piper stated, “How many times do you have to say it before they understand ‘Crime doesn’t pay!’ Here is a young man giving six years of his life to a 4 x 8 cell because it was easier to be a thief than it was to work. What some people choose to do, makes no sense.” Piper continued, “Don’t be disheartened, there are a lot of good young people out there - - - they just don’t make the ‘Wanted’ posters.”
