Butler County Prosecutor Robin Piper announces the successful guilty conviction of three drug dealers

(HAMILTON, OH) Butler County Prosecutor Robin Piper announces the successful guilty conviction of three drug dealers charged with Trafficking in Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana, and Firearm offenses.

Yesterday, a Butler County jury deliberated approximately six hours before convicting the three men. Demarian Harry (age, 32) was found guilty of Trafficking in Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana both charges carrying a firearm specification. David Garcia (age 38) was found guilty of Trafficking in Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana. Jeffrey Craft (age 22) was found guilty of Trafficking in Marijuana and Possession of Marijuana, both charges carrying a firearm specification, and an additional charge of Having Weapon While Under Disability.

The charges arose out of a search warrant executed by the Butler County Sheriff's Office at 225 Cereal Ave, in the City of Hamilton where over 50 pounds of marijuana was recovered, along with numerous scales, 4 firearms, and a little of $15,000 in U.S. Currency. The marijuana was being brought in from Arizona. Defendant Jeffrey Craft's 3 year old son was located in an upstairs bedroom during the execution of the search warrant, which increases the penalties.

Sentencing is scheduled for December 19, 2007 at 8:30am before the Honorable Craig D. Hedric. The Trafficking in Marijuana charges carry a mandatory 10 years in prison with an additional 1 year for the firearm specifications. The Possession of marijuana charges carry a mandatory 8 years in prison with an additional 1 year in prison on the firearm specifications. The Having Weapon Under Disability charge carries up to 5 years in prison.

Prosecutor Piper stated, "We worked very hard on this case and appreciate the help of the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. We need to cut off the supply lines and these convictions are a step in that direction. The penalties are harsh because the crimes are significant."
