Prosecutor Robin Piper and Assistant Prosecutor Dan Eichel honored for their success in the prosecution of several members of a major drug enterprise

Press Release For Immediate Release January 3, 2008

(HAMILTON, OH) Commander John Burke of the Warren County Drug Task Force presented plaques to Prosecutor Robin Piper and Assistant Prosecutor Dan Eichel to honor them for their successful prosecution of several members of a major drug enterprise. Members of the gang conspired to murder several people in order to protect their drug trade. One of the murders actually took place, resulting in the death of Jeff Thomas, who was executed on August 26, 2003.

The prosecutions were the result of a two-year investigation, which had the assistance of the FBI, the U.S. District Attorneys Office and several members of the Warren County Drug Task Force. Millions of dollars were confiscated and dozens of convictions were received in both state and federal courts.

In receiving the acknowledgment of appreciation, Prosecutor Piper stated, “They caught the little guys all the way up to the ‘big fish’. The depth involved in this investigation was immense and I am proud to have worked with so many law enforcement officers of such a high caliber. Many law enforcement officers were working behind the scenes to put the pieces of this puzzle together. Everyday they were aggressively involved in the pursuit of justice. I am overwhelmed to be honored by them when I know our prosecution was only a small part of the time consuming and thorough investigation which took place. A major drug operation was brought down with the coordination of the Warren County Drug Task Force. They have done our community a great service and they are working for us everyday - I am proud to be honored by them.”
