Four separate defendants plea guilty rather than face a jury

(HAMILTON, OH) Four separate defendants plea guilty today rather than face a jury in their trials which were scheduled to begin today.

Ernest Yee, Jr., a 26-year-old Fairfield man, plead guilty as charged today in Butler County Common Please Court to one count of Felonious Assault (F2), one count of Complicity to Obstructing Justice (F3), and two counts of Complicity to Tampering with Evidence (F3).

Joining Yee before the Honorable Judge Keith Spaeth were Yee's parents and co-defendants: Ernie Yee, Sr., who plead guilty as charged to two counts of Tampering with Evidence (F3), and Nannie Yee, who plead guilty as charged to two counts of Tampering with Evidence (F3) and one count of Obstructing Justice (F3).

The Yee's charges arose out of the events of September 1, 2007, when Ernest Jr. assaulted his wife in their home at 5109 Pleasant Ave. in Fairfield. As a result of the assault, the Victim suffered a life-threatening injury to her spleen, which had to be removed. After their son's arrest, the elder Yee's tampered with evidence of the assault left in the home at the request of Ernest Jr. In addition, Ernest Jr. solicited his mother to put pressure on his nine-year-old nephew (who was present in the home along with the couple's four younger children) to change his story regarding what he saw. These conversations took place in phone calls made by Ernest Jr. from the Butler County Jail, which records all outgoing phone calls made by inmates.

Sentencing for the Yee family is scheduled for April 17, 2007, at 11:00 am before Judge Spaeth. Ernest Jr. faces a possible maximum sentence of 18 years in prison, while his parents each face a maximum possible prison sentence of five years.

(HAMILTON, OH) Duane Parrish entered a plea as charged minutes before his jury trial was scheduled to start.

Duane Parrish, age 47, enter his plea to Illegal Manufacturing of Methamphetamine and Illegal Assembly or Possession of Chemicals for the Manufacture of Methamphetamine. The charges stem from a search warrant served by the Butler County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Preble County Sheriff's Office, at the Defendant's residence at 132 West Church Street in Sommerville Ohio on August 2, 2007. Inside the residence, law enforcement located approximately 29 grams of methamphetamine, along with sulfuric acid, lithium ammonium, anhydrous ammonia, along with several respirators.

After his plea, Judge Craig Hedric immediately sentenced Defendant to serve 5 mandatory years in prison, and pay mandatory fines totaling $12,500. Defendant had a prior conviction for Burglary back in early 1980's.
