Robin Piper, the Prosecutor of Butler County, brings into office a wealth of legal experience and knowledge.Mr. Piper graduated from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1981.

In addition to maintaining a private practice in Hamilton for many years, Mr. Piper was also an Assistant Prosecutor for John Holcomb from 1983 until 1998. STOP DOMESTIC VIOLENCE!

(HAMILTON, OH) As the Domestic Violence Awareness month quickly comes to an end, Prosecutor Piper reminds the public that domestic violence is a never ending vicious cycle. Efforts to increase awareness can’t stop at the end of the month. Prosecutor Piper remains diligent in the fight against domestic violence by maintaining a Domestic Crimes Unit, specifically addressing domestic violence. An assistant prosecuting attorney and victim advocate have been dedicated to this specialized Unit. Early intervention helps stabilize domestic violence victims during criminal proceedings, resulting in more successful prosecutions. Unfortunately, children often absorb the collateral damage of this type of violence. In addition to support services, the Domestic Crimes Unit strives to educate the general public, law enforcement and students through public awareness events such as Amy’s Fund 5K Run & Family Fun Fest sponsored by Citizens Against Domestic Violence. The Run, scheduled for Saturday, October 25, at 10 AM at the Voice of America Park in West Chester, directly raises funds for victims of violence and crimes throughout Butler County, while simultaneous raising public awareness about domestic violence. Prosecutor Piper’s office will have a new, informative brochure available to the public focusing on domestic violence. The brochure lists available resources to victims of domestic violence. It also discusses the effects of domestic violence and helps others identify its symptoms. Prosecutor Piper stated, “Domestic violence is devastating, with significant, long-term consequences. It effects children in the worse kind of way. We see the need for a specialized Unit to address this cancerous form of violence. We all need to support events which increase awareness of domestic violence. Hopefully, people will take advantage of the information we have to share.”
