Illegal Immigrant Found Guilty of Aggravated Vehicular Assault

Butler County Prosecutor Robin Piper announces the successful prosecution and conviction of Louis Delgado, a 24-year old illegal immigrant, residing in Hamilton. Late last night, a Butler County Jury found Defendant Louis Delgado guilty of Aggravated Vehicular Assault, a second degree felony.

On March 28, 2008, Delgado purposely crashed his vehicle into a telephone pole on Woodsdale Road, in an attempt to injure a female passenger. Both Delgado and the female were ejected from the vehicle and seriously injured. Delgado is partially paralyzed as a result of the crash and remains in a wheelchair.

After the jury’s verdict was read, Delgado was immediately sentenced to 8 years in prison by Common Pleas Judge Michael Sage.

“After serving his eight years in prison, Delgado will be deported for the third time. If the public knew how much extra time and money goes into prosecuting illegal immigrants, they would demand our leaders in Washington tighten-up the border. This particular individual almost killed a young lady, has cost taxpayers a lot of expense, and now we’re paying his medical expenses too. Due to an insightful jury, he won’t be hurting anyone for the next eight years.” Prosecutor Piper stated.
