Charles D. McDonald Guilty of Felonious Assault

Charles D. McDonald, an 18-year old, Hamilton man was found guilty today of two counts of Felonious Assault by a Butler County jury.

The incident occurred on November 7, 2008 in the 700 block of East Avenue, in the City of Hamilton, where McDonald struck the victim repeatedly with a hammer. The victim received serious injuries to the head and face, including facial fractures and wounds requiring numerous stitches and staples to repair.

Officers of the City of Hamilton Police Department responded to the scene and McDonald was taken into custody shortly after the incident.

“It was a brutal attack. The victim was walking down the street with his girlfriend when attacked from behind. Thank God the victim is alive. Instead of sneaking up behind people with a hammer, McDonald can now wrap his hands around bars....for a long time,” Prosecutor Piper stated.
