Sean Warner Sentenced to 13 Years for Aggravated Robbery

In April, a Butler County Jury found Sean Warner, a 32-year old man, guilty as charged of Aggravated Robbery with a firearm. Today, Defendant Warner received a maximum sentence of 13 years in prison for that robbery.

On August 21, 2009, Advance America in Middletown was held up at gun point and robbed of approximately $183.00. Middletown Police Officers utilized Advance America’s surveillance cameras to obtain photographs of the robber. Those photos were distributed to the local media and led police to an anonymous caller identifying Shawn Warner as the armed robber. Defendant Warner was arrested at the Lebanon Correctional Institute in Warren County, where he was serving 17 months on unrelated charges.

Prosecutor Piper stated, “We have seen an increase in robberies in Butler County, which have been met with aggressive prosecution and maximum punishments. The reckless dangers caused by these gun-toting robbers must stop. For $183.00 this would-be robber will spend 13 years in prison.”
